Summer camps dates 5784-2024

Dear parents, members and teams, may Hashem be with you!

As every year, the activities department takes charge of the planning and design of the summer camps so that they are educationally meaningful and well-organized on a concrete level, down to the smallest details, with the aim of ensuring the safety of participants. Of course, this year the challenge is greater, in these complicated and intense times.

Praying that the hostages return and that our soldiers are victorious, we inform you below of Bnei Akiva’s program for this summer.

We have gathered in this table the dates per area and Shevatim for 5784-2024 summer camps.

Every year, and this year even more than ever, the importance of these camps in the heart of the forests takes on particular meaning and the presence of the children with their instructors, the atmosphere of the summer camps strengthen and tighten the children’s bonds with each other, with their Snif and with Bnei Akiva.

In order to adapt forest excursions to the current and changing situation, and in the current great uncertainty, we are forced to make some changes to the program of the camps.

The detailed program can be found below!

Attention!
Bnei Akiva reserves the right to modify dates based on instructions from higher or external authorities.

Distribution by area

Dan District

*Ma’apilim like every year, the camp will last three days. If challenges arise in the meantime, which do not allow us to successfully carry out the planned camp, the Shevet Ma’apilim will join the two-day regional camp and then we will unfortunately be forced to cancel the instructors training (due to uncertainty regarding Shevet Ma’apilim, two dates are planned).

**Separate Snifim The distribution of separate Snifim during the separate excursion or in separate sectors will be published later by the Komonarit.

***Yuval and Ofek We are studying several possible formats so the camp can take place, we are doing everything possible so that this year too they have an interesting and adapted camp. As soon as the decision has been made, we will inform you.

****Training of Ha-roeh Camp – Departure during the 9th of Av (afternoon), we have planned a study on the destruction of Jerusalem as the central subject of Ha-roeh Camp, after receiving the approval of Rav Yaakov Ariel.

The changes are related to two main challenges:

 * Security: As a result of the war, we will not be able to use the northern forests as usual for summer camps, and on instructions from the security authorities, we are forced to choose other forests.
These new destinations force us to anticipate these constraints and others, such as taking into account other youth movements which may plan their camps in these same forests and the desire to meet the needs of all the youth in Israel.

*Staff recruitment: we are facing a situation of uncertainty in terms of staff, especially due to unexpected reserve periods. We recruit professional and competent staff who have gone through a meticulous recruitment and training process as every year, and it is necessary to build a quality and responsible animation team that can operate and animate the camps in the best way.

These challenges lead us to the program we are getting ready to:

All camps for Shevatim Zra’im, Nitzanim and Ma’alot will take place during “the three weeks”, and without instructors training.

Shevet Zra’im: will join the two-day regional camps.

Shevatim Nevatim, Nitzanim and Ma’alot: this year they will benefit from a two-day regional camp supervised by the regional teams and the Komonariyot (this is why there will be no instructors training)

Shevet Ma’apilim: like every year, the camp will last three days.

Shevet Ha’roeh: like every year, we are doing our best to make the itinerant camp in the Jerusalem area possible.

Training of Ha-roeh Camp: Departure during the 9th of Av (afternoon), we have planned a study on the destruction of Jerusalem as the central subject of Ha-roeh Camp, after receiving the approval of Rav Yaakov Ariel.

Shevet Re’im (Sayarim): the camp will take place for six days like every year, obviously not in the usual forests, but in other places.

ShevatimYuval and Ofek: We are studying several possible formats so the camp can take place, we are doing everything possible so that this year too they have an interesting and adapted camp. As soon as the decision has been made, we will inform you.

All camp programming is done taking into account, above all, the safety of children and instructors.

The dates of the camps for which a period has been published, but not a precise date, will be published later; of course, depending on the situation, changes could occur, which would be beyond our control, in which case the updates will be sent to you in real time and therefore we ask you to pay attention to messages from Bnei Akiva.

Hoping with all our hearts the coming of better days and the continuity of our deep connection to our land, and sending you our friendly wishes for Torah and Avoda

Igal Klein – Secretary General of Bnei Akiva

Daniel Lixenberg – Head of Activities Department
